Getting close

Well Hobb's is getting closer to a finish.  Once I've done some of the more confetti areas I think he'll finish fairly quickly.  My daughter and her husband are coming home to visit mid-March and I'd really like to have him done (and framed) by then to show off.  This has been a wonderful stitch so far, with no back stitch or partial stitches it's nice and straightforward.  Just need to pay attention in some areas that are more confetti heavy than others, but over all, much easier than I thought it would be when I first looked at the design.  I'd definitely do another Heaven and Earth design, clear easy to follow pattern and all full cross stitch, and the detail is fantastic.

Not much else is getting done lately, as work has been crazy.  We lost one person in our department with no notice, and have had some down days due to the weather causing problems (snow/ice) and being year end, so it's been quite hectic and we always seem to be behind.  Hopefully things will start to settle down soon.

With all the snow and ice, and the extreme cold, I'm so ready for winter to be over.  During the ice storm over Christmas we lost power for 3 days, I was lucky though, my parents lost it for 5, and may others lost it for even longer.  It took about 2 weeks for them to get everyone back up and running.  A house can get pretty cold in that time, especially given how cold it is outside (with wind chill we've had many days that are between 15 and 30 below, ugh!!).  Then after the ice storm we got hit with the snow storm that dumped about 2 ft of snow on us, which messed everything up again.  Spring and summer can't get here soon enough.
BTW, Jackie (Scattered Threads) if you're reading this I can no longer link to your blog to say hi, but wanted to say thanks for stopping by and hope you're keeping well.

Hobbs is quite handsome. You'll have to pick a very special frame for one so good looking! ;-)

Even here in Florida, it has been exceptionally cold this year. I don't mind during the day, but the nights make me crazy. Our bedroom just won't get warm.

    Hi Sue,

Love Hobbs!!! He's my kind of dragon!! He
loves books!!! Beautiful range of colours in
this design. I'll bet he's gorgeous in person!
Hope you can get it finished before your
Daughter and her husband come home for
    their visit.

Hasn't this been a winter to forget??? Whenever
we meet someone here in town the first question
these days is .... Soooo, how long was your power
out for??? (After the Ice Storm). Usually followed
by ... Sooo, how many trees did you loose?

    Spring can't come fast enough.

Hope things settle down for you at work soon.

Congratulations on an amazing finish! Heaven & Earth Designs are so detailed, which is why they are beautiful I have purchased 6 H&E designs and have barely started one! I do love them and can appreciate all the time that you put into yours.

Wow, it's cold here in the Northeast as well but luckily I have not lost electricity and can remain warm inside. I feel for you!

Hobbs is amazing!!! Confetti stitching makes me nuts after awhile which explains why some of my projects have been languishing. However the more confetti, the more detailed the picture, the more interesting it is!!! It's a double edged sword! LOL

And as a person who lives in a fairly warm winter area, what do you DO when you lose power?? How do you keep the house warm? Do you have a gas stove? What do you do with your pets???
