Strawberries, Peaches, and Garfield

I've gotten a little more done on Strawberries this week and am now about half way done. Just have the bunnies (my favorite part) and the bottom box with the word Strawberries in it to do. These are such fun pieces. The pictures on the chart just don't do them justice. The Little House Needleworks board is doing a SAL starting Oct. 1. With the little stitching I've been doing lately I don't know if Strawberries will be done or not (probably not), but my plan is to finish it soon after the SAL starts and then start Acorns (love the squirrels).

I've also gotten a tiny bit of Garfield done. Just when this little guy looks like he's going to become a permanent UFO he seems to hop out and get some work on him done. All he has left is the backstitch, which I hate, which is why he's taking forever. However, as with my other projects, little by little he's getting there.

Finally, here is my finished and framed Peaches piece. I normally go with a med. to darker regular wood look frame, however, this time I went with the off white distressed look. I really like how it turned out, as it seems to blend well with the soft greens of the mats.

Peaches turned out beautifully. I like the white-washed frame. It really sets off the colors in the picture.

Love the Garfield, and the frame on Peaches. As for the quantity of stitching, you're still getting more done than I am at the moment, although I do have a 'small person' excuse =)

Oooh Sue!! That frame is perfect for Peaches!! Where did you find it??? Once I get a couple more of these projects stitched I'll be looking for nice frames to put them in.

I've seen this Garfield done elsewhere before and it's so darn cute. I know how you feel about backstitching. Unfortunately it's really necessary for some projects. But it looks as though you're almost done there anyways, so hang in there.

I love Strawberries too. I agree that the computer generated images used by LHN for these collaborations do not do the projects justice. Maybe thats why we're so anxious to get them stitched. So we can see what they really look like when they're done.

What method do you use when framing your x-stitch pieces???

    Cheers Judy

It's lovely, but also beautiful in the frame!!!
I love LHN this series (actually I love LHN/CCN) and I bought mat cutter, so I will try to cut mat by myself and when I finished this series, I will try to put it in the frame like yours!
    Congratulations, it's stunning!
